Minimum intervention dentistry has been focused mainly to caries, although it is useful in any other discipline.
With this perspective, when we work with this philosophy, we follow three steps: individual identification and assessment of the risk, early diagnosis and minimum invasive treatment.
With the objective of improving the prognosis and maintenance of our patients, and following the MIMD (Minimum Intervention Multidisciplinary Dentistry) we will follow from the first visit how can we implement this in our clinics without investing too much money.
The basis:
- Identification: first visit. Diagnosis (new methods),
- Risk assesment.
- Prevention strategies, which is the best for our patient?
- Treatment of initial lesions of caries
- Infiltration or Remineralisation
- Cavitated lesions
- Selective removal of caries
- Stepwise
- Which materials should we use?
- Enamel defects, caries or erosion…How can we help our patients in the initial states los estadios iniciales.
- Motivation and maintenance.
