  • 2001-2002: Researched on restorative dentistry and dental materials under the direction of Professor Nairn Wilson at The Dental School, University of Manchester, UK.

Career History:

  • 2012: Appointment as professor and head of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontology
  • 2020-: Director of Osaka University Dental Hospital Current research topics are as follows;
  • Root caries prevention by enhancing biomineralization
  • Investigations and analyses of root fracture mechanisms and the mechanical properties of human dentin
  • Optimal adhesive treatment methods of pulpless teeth
  • Caries risk assessment for adult patients by a data mining method
