Dr. Marcio Vivan Cardoso graduated as a dentist at Sao Paulo University, Brazil, in 1997. At the same institution, he obtained his Master (MSc) and Doctorate (PhD) degrees in 2003 and 2007 respectively, both in the area of Restorative Dentistry. Besides pursuing experience as a dentist in both public and private sectors, he has been intensively involved in the academic formation of students at Sao Paulo University and continuing education of dental surgeons as a lecturer and professor at different institutions, always focusing the areas of dental materials, minimal intervention dentistry and aesthetic dentistry. After his PhD, Dr. Vivan Cardoso was appointed as Pos-Doctorate Researcher at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, where he conducted research on biomaterials, producing a considerable number of scientific articles published in different international peer-reviewed journals. He is also the author of book chapters on Dental Materials and collaborates as a reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Vivan Cardoso also collaborated with GC Europe as Professional Services Manager, working on scientific affairs, education and relationship with key opinion leaders. He works nowadays at of the School of Dentistry of the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, in a tenure track as Coordinator of Clinical Skills Training.
